Version A - Sheet Film

Bath A

Metol 7.50 g
Sodium Sulphite 100.00 g
Water to 1 litre

Bath B

Sodium Metaborate 10.00 g
Water to 1 litre

Mix (in order) in 750 ml @ 38ºC, ensure Metol is dissolved fully before adding sodium sulphite. If water supply quality is doubtful, use de-ionised water.

Avoid Bath B contaminating Bath A.

Version B - Roll Film (Stoeckler formula)

Bath A

Metol 5.00 g
Sodium Sulphite 100.00 g
Water to 1 litre

Bath B
Borax 10.00 g
Water to 1 litre

Mix (in order) in 750 ml @ 38ºC, ensure Metol is dissolved fully before adding sodium sulphite. If water supply quality is doubtful, use de-ionised water.

Avoid Bath B contaminating Bath A.

Concentration of Borax can be increased (up to 100 g/litre) to increase activity in second bath.

Use
Generally : Expose film at manufacturers rating.
For both versions. Minimum 3 mins in each bath @ 21ºC. Agitate 5 secs every min for bath A, no agitation Bath B. No rinse or stop between baths. Rinse after bath B & stop if desired. Fix & wash as normal.
