Water 700 ml
Gold chloride 1% stock sol.* 10 ml
Sodium thiocyanate 10 g
Water to 1 litre
* 1 g of sodium chloroaurate in 100 ml water.
Note - if sodium tetrachloroaurate used, replace 15 ml of water with 15 ml of 10% hydrochloric acid, otherwise precipitate may occur.
Make up just before use. Treat ~ 10 mins., then wash for 10 mins.
For pink/red tones, first sepia tone the print.
